AGSA's Projects
Filling the Void is a project which aims to support people living in isolation who are caring for someone with a genetic condition. This includes support through telegroup counselling, face to face counselling, seminars and sibling workshops - rural outreach programme.
Living with Familial Aspects of Breast Cancer (BRCA 1/2 and unknown gene faults)
AGSA holds an annual information day (on the 2nd Sunday of October) for people affected by an inherited gene mutation predisposing them to certain cancers. This annual event includes presentations from doctors, genetic counsellors and individuals. Conducted in an informal setting, the day gives people the opportunity to receive up to date information and the chance to share stories.
- Plus regular genetic seminars throughout the year e.g. Sotos syndrome, Noonans syndrome, Klinefelter, XYY syndrome to name a few.
